Christmas Miracle Offering
(11/12/09)Five years ago the people of Peace committed to the very first Christmas Miracle Offering. And, WOW, have we responded to "love our neighbors". Once again this year we have an opportunity to put our shopping appetite on a diet and consider our neighbors struggling to meet basic needs.
As we enter the season of excess let us be mindful: of orphans who don't have beds to sleep on; of families who have lost jobs; of our jail chaplains who don't have budgets; of churches that minister to thousands but have no church building; and of ministries that can't change lives without donations.
Consider spending half as much this Christmas season and pray about the power of your gift to those suffering and struggling.
