Adult Groups

We encourage the people of the Peace to participate in small groups of some kind.
In small groups, people grow in faith and grow closer together, as they serve, support, study, and pray.

New groups begin all the time for varying lengths and varying purposes – for fellowship, ministry tasks, and Bible Study.

Join a small group:
Small groups are involved in study, care, prayer, and service. Here are some that are currently meeting:
  • Honduras Mission Team
  • Southwest Virginia Mission Team
  • Art Team
  • Youth Team (supports the youth ministry)
  • Building Peace team (A group who plan and execute our monthly faith formation activity)
  • Justice Ministry (They work with IMPACT, and action-based local organization seeking justice)
  • PACEM team (People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry, a grassroots organization that works with  local congregations and community groups and 3,000 volunteers to provide Wintertime shelter and related services to the homeless.)
  • Worship Servants, the wonderful folk who assist with worship each week (ushers, sound operators, projectionists, assisting ministers, cantors, nursery helpers)
  • Altar Guild (maintain and prepare communion and the altar paraments)
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry (a group that meets weekly to knit prayer shawls and prayer bears to comfort those in need)
  • Prayer Bead Ministry (they meet bi-weekly to make prayer beads to share with those who like to use them as part of their prayer life)
  • Weekday morning Bible Study
  • Meal/Care Ministry
Join a discipleship group:
A group of three or four people committed to meeting weekly
for one year to learn and grow in Christ.
